Jeremy Paxman is one of the most familiar faces on BBC television. He presented BBC’s Newsnight between 1989 and 2014. Up until 2022 Jeremy was the host and chair of the long running student quiz ‘University Challenge’.
A prolific writer Jeremy Paxman has written a number of books covering a huge range of subjects including Royalty, fly fishing. Victorian art and of course, politics.
1996 saw the start of a string of awards for Jeremy when he received a BAFTA Richard Dimbleby Award for ”outstanding presenter in the factual arena.” Later in 1998 he won the Royal Television Society’s Interviewer of the Year Award for his unforgettable interview with Michael Howard on Newsnight. This was along with the Broadcasting Press Guild’s award for best ”non-acting” performer. 2000 saw a second Richard Dimbleby Award with further nominations in 2001 and 2002.
Jeremy has also won the Royal Television Society TV journalism presenter of the year award twice, once in 2002 and again in 2007.
