Jackie Bird / Speaker Profile

Jackie Bird

Jackie Bird

Jackie Bird is a legend in broadcasting and one of the best known faces on television in Scotland. She presents the BBC's nightly news programme, Reporting Scotland and works extensively on radio. Jackie is also an accomplished writer and producer of a series of comedy sketch shows, The Lewis Lectures, for the BBC.

Jackie is in great demand as a host for all types of corporate events including conferences and award ceremonies. Not only is she one of our most sought after mc hosts but Jackie is also an accomplished and witty after dinner speaker.

Jackie Bird continues to be the main TV anchor for some of the most high profile programmes on BBC north of the border, including the Hogmanay show and BBC's Children in Need, where her energy, enthusiasm, humour and sheer professionalism are a standout.

Jackie is famous for her approach to health and fitness. As well as being a keen runner herself, she is patron of JogScotland, an organisation set up to encourage people to take up running for health and fitness.

Jackie is a keen swimmer and former tri-athlete, although, as she remarks in speeches, her dream of becoming an international athlete was tragically blighted at an early age, due to a lack of ability.
