She achieved a BSC in Mathematics and a MSC in Applied Marine Science at Plymouth University, where she specialized in the mathematics of the atmosphere and oceans. After leaving university she trained at the Met Office (1993) as a weather forecaster and spent the next eight years forecasting and presenting the weather.

Clare has worked in Met Office departments in London, Norwich and Plymouth. Her duties included aviation, marine and agricultural forecasting, radio weather bulletins and interviews and newspaper articles. She presented on Anglia TV before moving to Carlton.

Clare Nasir joined GMTV in 2000. Her duties include weather producer and presenter, with full responsibility for all weather output and science related features on GMTV, such as renewable energy and climate change strands.

Additionally Clare also presents travel reports from worldwide destinations. She continues to be affiliated with Plymouth University and spends some of her free time talking to school classes about weather, climate change and science. Clare is also studying another degree in Science and Environment.

She is married to Chris Hawkins, presenter on BBC 6music. Apart from her passion for weather and science, Clare loves music and spends her spare time attending live gigs and playing saxophone and guitar at home.
